Protection and certification

Are Tiger King shoes and boots CSA approved?

Yes. Every current Tiger King style is certified to CSA Z195 Grade 1. Look for the green triangle patch, which means Grade 1 toe protection (rated for 125 J impact) plus a puncture-resistant sole. Every style also carries ESR electric shock resistance, marked by the orange omega symbol.

Do Tiger King boots have a steel toe?

No. The whole Tiger King line uses a composite toe cap and a composite puncture-resistant plate. They are metal-free, which keeps them lighter than comparable steel-toe boots.

Which Tiger King styles are waterproof?

Niagara Men's, Niagara Women's and Superior Men's are waterproof, with a KINGTEX waterproof membrane. Jasper, Hudson, Michigan and Tofino are not waterproof.

Are Tiger King boots slip resistant and heat resistant?

Yes. All styles use a slip-resistant NBR rubber outsole that is heat resistant to 300°C. The outsole is molded directly to the upper rather than glued, so it will not separate the way a cemented sole can.

Are Tiger King boots safe for electricians?

Every style is ESR (electric shock resistant) under CSA Z195. ESR is a secondary layer of protection in dry conditions. It does not replace lockout, insulated tools or other electrical safety procedures your employer requires.

Fit and sizing

Are Tiger King shoes wide?

Yes. Every Tiger King style is built on a true extra-wide last as standard, not a regular last labelled "wide." There is no separate wide version to look for, because every pair already has the extra room.

How should I choose my size?
  • Men's: measure your foot and check the size chart on the product page. Between sizes? Go a half size down.
  • Women's: comfy wide fit. Measure your foot and use the size chart on the product page to pick your size.
  • Very wide feet: email us before you order and we'll help you pick.

See the full sizing guide for how to measure at home.

What sizes do you carry?

Men's styles run 7 to 11 in half sizes, plus 12 and 13. Women's styles run 5, then 6 to 10 in half sizes. Hudson Men's has no 10.5 and Niagara Women's has no 6.5.

Do you make women's safety shoes, or just smaller men's sizes?

We make dedicated women's versions of Jasper, Hudson, Niagara, Michigan and Tofino, sized 5 to 10. See the women's collection.
