It is about height, closure, weather, and what your day actually looks like. Here is the honest comparison.
The Short Version
- Jasper: Chelsea-style pull-on boot. No laces. Best if you are on and off the boots repeatedly.
- Hudson: mid-cut lace boot with ankle support. The all-rounder.
- Niagara: waterproof boot. For wet ground and Canadian weather.
- Superior: waterproof 8 inch boot. Maximum coverage and ankle support.
- Michigan and Tofino: lightweight safety shoes. For indoor work and long days on hard floors.
Jasper: The Pull-On
Jasper is a modern take on the Chelsea safety boot. Elastic side panels, no laces, and a slip-resistant NBR rubber outsole. CSA Grade 1, metal free, puncture-resistant plate, ESR rated.
Choose Jasper if: you are in and out of vehicles all day, you work somewhere that requires boots off at the door, or laces are a snag hazard in your environment. Delivery, service trades, agricultural work, and site supervision all suit it.
Look elsewhere if: you need adjustable tension over the instep, or you want ankle support you can tighten. A pull-on cannot be cinched down the way a lace boot can.

Hudson: The All-Rounder
Hudson is a mid-cut lace boot. It gives you real ankle support without the weight and stiffness of a tall boot, and the lacing lets you dial in the fit over the instep. CSA Grade 1, metal free, puncture resistant, ESR rated, slip-resistant outsole.
Choose Hudson if: you want one boot that handles most of what you do. Carpentry, general construction, manufacturing, warehouse work with uneven ground, and anything where you are on your feet all day but not standing in water.
Look elsewhere if: you are regularly in standing water or slush. Hudson is not a waterproof style.

Niagara: The Waterproof Boot
Niagara is our flagship waterproof boot and the one most people end up in if they work outdoors in Canada. Waterproof construction, CSA Grade 1, metal free, ESR rated, puncture-resistant plate, slip-resistant outsole.
Choose Niagara if: you work outdoors year round, in wet basements and crawlspaces, on sites with standing water, or anywhere spring melt and autumn rain are part of the job. Plumbing, utilities, roadwork, landscaping, and outdoor construction.
Look elsewhere if: you work indoors in a climate-controlled plant. A waterproof boot in a hot indoor environment traps more heat than a breathable one, and you will not get value from the feature.

Superior: The Tall Waterproof Boot
Superior is Niagara's taller sibling: an 8 inch waterproof boot with extended ankle support, in brown or black. Composite toe, puncture resistant, ESR rated, slip-resistant outsole.
Choose Superior if: you want the most coverage we make. Deeper water and mud, more debris protection around the ankle, and more lateral support on uneven ground. Pipefitting, heavy civil work, forestry-adjacent work, and anyone who has rolled an ankle on a jobsite and does not want to do it again.
Look elsewhere if: you need to get boots on and off quickly, or you spend most of the day kneeling. An 8 inch shaft is more boot to lace and it restricts ankle flex more than a mid-cut.

Michigan and Tofino: The Safety Shoes
Michigan and Tofino are lightweight CSA safety shoes rather than boots. Same protection package: composite toe, puncture resistant, metal free, ESR rated, slip-resistant outsole. They just stop at the ankle and weigh considerably less.
Choose a safety shoe if: you work indoors on hard floors, cover a lot of distance in a shift, need to move through tight spaces, or your hazard assessment does not call for ankle coverage. Warehousing, distribution, light manufacturing, food processing, facilities work, and hospital or lab environments.
Look elsewhere if: your site requires a boot, you are on broken ground, or debris and splash around the ankle is a real risk.
Michigan is available in men's and women's. Tofino is available in men's and women's.
What They All Have in Common
Whichever you pick, you get the same certified protection: CSA Z195 Grade 1 impact protection at 125 joules, a puncture-resistant plate, ESR electrical shock resistance, a slip-resistant outsole, and metal-free construction throughout. And all of them are built on a roomier last than most safety footwear, because a boot that pinches is a boot that gets worn badly.
If you are still deciding, the practical question is usually just this: are your feet going to get wet, and do you need ankle support? Wet plus ankle support is Superior. Wet without is Niagara. Dry with ankle support is Hudson. Dry without is Michigan, Tofino, or Jasper depending on whether you want laces.
